How to: Wear fur

After attending some of the Toronto Fashion Week spring shows thus far I think its safe to say Fur is one of the biggest trends of fall 2010. Be it faux (personally I prefer the faux) or real fur is back in a big way. Yesterday we saw some strong hits of fur on boots, scarves and some really great shoes. Take a look below at some other examples.

Holiday dressing 101

Statement  Clutch w/ chain

Update any wardrobe with a statement clutch with that added chain detail. Wear it with a classic party dress or with jeans and a slouchy tee.

Sleeveless Cardigan

Mix up your wardrobe with a sleeveless cardigan. Looks great belted over a printed party dress like Leighton Meester. This season you can beat the frost without compromising fashion.

Peep-Toe Bootie

This seasons shoe is hands down the bootie- with an added peep toe it gives us that little bit extra that makes it cocktail party ( or holiday party) worthy. Pair an open toe bootie with a holiday dress or even a cute skirt with a slouchy white tank combo. Freido Pinto, above has the perfect mix of femininity and edgy chic.

Black Blazer

Take your blazer from office or school to evening . This being a top trend for 2009 is here to stay for the holiday 2009 season. You can dress up any outfit with the right blazer. Try updating this look by wearing blazer sans top paired with a dressy full skirt like Jessica Beil for that sexy boy meets girl styling.

Long-Sleeve Minidress w/ added shoulder detail

Add the long sleeve mini as this seasons must have staple piece. This piece can be interchanged with so many of your current wardrobe pieces. It's a body-conscious fit hugs in all the right places piece. Pair this look with a colorful pair of platforms (Hint:  black opaque tights optional, perhaps a good option for a company holiday party!)

Some other key pieces for the season:
- A sequined cardigan (think Jimmy Choo for H&M)
- Embellished tights
- Statement jewelry
- Dressy/ fur coat
- Feathers (Hint: adding a feather detail to an accessory or old shoes )
- Velvet detail
