Trending @ NYFW: Stuck in the middle

Ohne Titel, Preen, Alexandre Herchcovitch

For spring 2012 things are heading in the direction of cropped. We are seeing this all over the spring runways. Ohne Titel opened their show with a breezy striped number, complete with a revealing side-slit. Alexandre Herchcovitch used a sleek, white blouse as a sexy counterpoint to a ladylike embroidered skirt. Preen piled on the pixelated prints, presenting a pastel color-blocked sweater, complete with a sweetly ruffled collar.

Trend Alert: Striped Sailor Shirt for Spring 10

Jean Paul Gaultier seems to be always wearing one. His models will always walk down the runways in a version of the shirt. The stripped sailor shirt is one of those items that embodies the French woman chic, while completely dishonoring the myth that horizontal stripes are not flattering. This shirt is a must have for Spring 2010.

Trend Alert: Peek of Denim for Spring 2010

Some tips to remember when wearing denim jackets:

1. The jacket color should either be really dark or really faded out, for the purpose of Spring 10 stick to the light washed out denim look.

2. Buy it a size too small of find a very fitted style.

3. NEVER wear it with another piece of blue denim ( this look stays at the ranch.) For a really chic look try the jean jacket with white denim jeans.

4. Try vintage this season - for a classic look and layer on top of our faithful boyfriend blazer or a leather jacket, like above.
